MINDSGN STUDIO (PTY) LTD ("we", "us", "our") built the EarGuide Log app ("the App") as a listening difficulty and decibel logger for hearing aid wearers. It logs real-world audio environments to support audiology appointments.. This Privacy Policy describes the information we handle, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

  • Audio clips you record to log challenging listening environments. Recordings are stored locally unless you opt in to cloud backup.
  • Decibel (dBFS) estimates computed from your recordings and attached to each log entry.
  • Optional cloud backup: if enabled, logs sync to your account. If disabled, everything stays on-device.
  • Export files (CSV) that you choose to share with your hearing specialist are created only at your request.

2. How We Use Information

  • To operate, maintain, and improve the App's core features.
  • To sync data you explicitly enable across your own devices.
  • To respond to support requests when you contact us.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties.

3. Data Storage & Security

Where data is stored locally, it stays on your device and never leaves it unless you opt in to sync. Where cloud features are used, data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS) and stored in access-controlled infrastructure. You may delete your data at any time from within the App.

4. Third-Party Services

The App may rely on third-party service providers for infrastructure such as cloud storage, app analytics, or push notifications. These providers only process data as needed to deliver their service and are bound by their own privacy commitments.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Depending on your jurisdiction (including POPIA in South Africa and the GDPR in the EU), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
